Operation Family Fund is a private, non-profit organization, which supports soldiers, sailors, airmen and their family members. Operation Family Fund does not receive government funding. The organization receives support, primarily from individuals and other private corporations.
Operation Family Fund states that their mission is "to assist the injured and families of those who have been injured or killed as part of the Global War on Terrorism, whether domestic or abroad,military or civilian, with financial grants for transitioning to their new circumstances and achieving financial self-sufficiency."
According to Operation Family Fund, they have helped over 240 military members and their families. They have also raised over $1,400,000 in financial donations from the American Public.
One such contributor of Operation Family Fund, includes Dr. Laura Schlessinger. Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a radio host and NY Times Best Selling Author. Her son Deryk is a soldier for the U.S. Army. Recently, Dr. Laura Schlessinger organized a Necklace Collection Benefit and Birthday Party. Due to Dr. Laura's efforts, Operation Family Fund raised over $1,000,000.
