The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation was founded in 1985 by brothers Lynde and Harry Bradley in an effort to continue their ideologies and corporate stand after Rockwell International Corporation bought Allen-Bradley, a company co-owned by Lynde Bradley. Philosophies upheld by the Bradley Brothers were more focused on the preservation of free commerce and the continuation of free representation in the government, along with encouragement of the values and principles of capitalism within the confines of American democracy.

Areas of Interest:

The organization, widely known as The Bradley Foundation, has set their sights on pursuing philanthropy on the following areas:

  1. Education and Intellectual infrastructure
  2. Economic prosperity and growth
  3. Society (community-based projects)
  4. Law (specifically employee’s rights, legal reform, and equal opportunity)
  5. The promotion of liberty

The Foundation seeks to achieve those goals through funding scholarships and supporting the academics.

has been a loud supporter for the proper diffusion of education and public information. Several schools and non-profit organizations received grants and other forms of funding from the Bradley Foundation. Some of the 2007 pro-education recipients are:

The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, in partnership with the Wisconsin-based Sand County Foundation, formed the Bradley Fund for the Environment. The said organization aims to develop and sustain environmental programs that are science-based and are confined within the rules of ethics in order to address and provide solutions to the major issues regarding the environment. The Bradley Fund for the environment has been collaborating with various non-profit pro-environment groups to achieve the organization’s goals.

Another philanthropic achievement garnered by The Lynde and Bradley Foundation was its contribution to the creation of the Philanthropy Roundtable, a non-profit organization that aims to connect philanthropic institutions to other charitable organizations and donors in efforts to encourage and advance philanthropic pursuits and other unselfish goals.

Other institutions that are in association with the Philanthropy Roundtable include the Ruth and Lovett Peters Foundation, Randolph Foundation, and Thomas B. Fordham Foundation, among others.
